Why the Mr. Wiffle ® catches more fish!
The reason Mr. Wiffle Sonic Tail lures work so well for practically every species of fresh or salt water sport fish (including one fish caught by Robert Brooks of Texas that not even the experts know what species it is) is very simple it is their “Sonic tail”. In either the shad or modified shad shaped body of the Mr. Wiffle we feature our unique and trademarked four holes in the tail. Even our smallest lure the Lil’ Wiffle at one and a half inches long has four holes in its tail too. Because water much like air reacting on the wing of a plane, it will try to gain an advantage on one side of the tail or the other so we put the holes in the tail thereby allowing water to freely flow through the tail, imparting a constant motion to the tail even when the lure is sitting still. The smallest bit of current or retrieve keeps the tail moving in a lifelike manor while other curled tails will simply fall flat and motionless making them unattractive to the fish. Another major benefit to our design of the Mr. Wiffle is the joint between body and tail. This reinforced joint keeps the tail from wagging the lure (as in tail wagging the dog) and with the squared off body of our Mr. Wiffle “Mouthful” worms, the sonic action of our sonic tail does not cause the lure to roll in the water eliminating any twisting to the angler’s line like other worms.
Perhaps more importantly the holes in the tail produce a “Vibration” fish can hear and will follow in the water. We have video of a fish following Mr. Wiffle through the water even while the angler changes the direction of the retrieve constantly taking it away from the fish.
